The results are in…

I finally couldn’t take it anymore.  I knew the test results were due in today so I called and left a message for my doctor to call me.  At last after waiting the whole day, he did call and told me that my tumor is a “complex fibroidadenoma” which means it needs to be removed and tested further.  He said it’s not your just run of the mill fibroidenoma, which are just fibrous and glandular tissue abnormalities turned into hard lump, but he said he’d talk to me more Monday at my appointment.  So for now I am breathing a sigh of relief! Whew!  At any rate, I’m just glad they’ll be taking it out.  Hopefully they’ll test it and be sure there’s no chance of it becoming anything  more and that’ll be the end of that.

  1. I emailed you back but I wanted to reply here as well. That is really good news. The majority of complex fibroadenomas are BENIGN! That is exactly what mine was and after they removed it and tested it they found no pre-cancerous nor any malignant cells so I am hoping the same for you. Mine was considered complex because there was a cyst attached to it. Enjoy your weekend and let your mind rest. Getting it fully removed will make you feel so much better because you know that it is out of there. I can’t tell you how relieved I was to have that darn thing out! 🙂

  2. WOW!!! THAT IS WONDERFUL NEWS!!!—since they tested it and knew what it was ,there probably aren’t any malignant cells or they would say, right!—what a relief–i am so glad you were told today and didn’t have to spend the entire weekend worrying as well===getting it removed will be a relief i am sure!!! My friend who had the lump, opted to leave it in and have it measured at six and twelve months–i am not sure what they called her lump–they said they could remove it if she liked, but she said no.The size has not changed in the last year and now she just needs yearly checks. I am fifty one and had a mammo this week—this test strikes the fear of God in us women—what a crazy way to live!====so happy for you!! take care!
